Like a majority of designers, I've worn a lot of different hats. I began the journey as a production designer/illustrator, which evolved into a visual designer role, that eventually crossed into the digital design space.
Throughout every evolution—from my time as a brand and identity intern to becoming an interactive UX design lead—it's always been about speaking human and leading with empathy and rational problem solving.
My main focus as a designer is to get out of my space and talk with real people with real problems—stakeholders, customers and product users—where they live and work, to better understand their needs and pain points.
Listening is key and every design decision I make is based in improving the overall user experience.
I'm a pretty visual person so it's just easier to show vs. tell.
